Animal Services
As an animal services volunteer you will play a very important role in the
process of finding our adoptable animals their forever homes. Once you have
completed your orientation, you will be able to help in the following areas:

Kennel Care
Think you have what it takes to get the shelter spotless by 10am? Help our
kennel staff clean and prep our shelter for adoption hours.

. Cleaning kennels and outdoor runs
. Ensuring disease control
. Replenishing bedding
. Maintaining laundry of all bedding and kennel needs
. Sanitizing water and food bowls
. Replenishing water in kennels

7 days a week, 8:30am-10am

Animal Socialization
It is important for shelter animals to have ongoing socialization while
waiting to find forever homes. This not only helps keep them happy and
healthy, but also improves their manners for their new family.

Canine/Dog Socializing
. Cuddle time
. Brushing
. Playtime
. Using enrichment tools (ex. stuffing kongs)
. Teaching basic commands and manners
. Conditioning our adoptable dogs on their kennel presence
. Agility course training*
. Taking dogs for walks outside of adoption center

7 days a week, 10am-close

Is has been our goal since 2001 to rent our own location.

We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to board and care for our FOAC pets waiting foster placement and adoption.  This center will facilitate the showing of our animals as well as providing a centralized location for education meetings, records and adoptions.  It will be an efficient, effective and comfortable FOAC headquarters, office and volunteer center.  We would like to invite dedicated, animal-loving individuals to volunteer with FOAC.  We welcome your ideas, participation and time.  If your are interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please call the adoption center at 209-533-FOAC (3622).  Please leave a vmail message if no one is available and we will get back to you ASAP.  FOAC acknowledges and appreciates the invaluable assistance provided by our community supporters.  We could not have accomplished this move with you.  We hope you will come to visit us at the FOAC ADOPTION CENTER.

Thank you!2014 pics 033
